PERT includes partners from Portage Regional Economic Development, Community Futures White Horse Plains, Community Futures Heartland, City of Portage la Prairie, Arrowhead Development Corporation, Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie, Southport Aerospace Centre, and the Portage and District Chamber of Commerce. Together, this coalition works to streamline data collection, align regional priorities, and develop targeted action plans that support business success, attract investment, and strengthen the regional economy.

Regional Business Walks
What is the Business Walks Blitz FAQ
The Regional Business Walks began in 2024 as an effective way for PERT to meet businesses where they are, listen to their experiences, and understand what support they need most. This initiative, led by Portage Regional Economic Development (PRED), aligns with Focus Area 1: Collaborative Prosperity & Focus Area 2: Elevating Portage la Prairie in the Regional Economic Development Strategy of The Region of Portage la Prairie.
The success of that first year showed how valuable these face-to-face conversations are, leading PERT to make Business Walks an annual initiative. Considering feedback from 2024, adjustments and improvements were made on the format and execution of Business Walks on September 29th, 2025.
