Public Input Requested for an Economic Development Strategy for the Region of Portage la Prairie

Portage Regional Economic Development (PRED) is working to create a Regional Economic Development Strategy for the Region of Portage la Prairie. The strategy will assist the Region to successfully attract and retain business investments and provide an “above and beyond” quality of life for all who choose to work, play and visit the Region.
The strategy will be based on meaningful community engagement and participation to help confirm the values and develop the strategic vision and goals for economic development. An online survey has been launched to gauge the Region’s key issues, concerns, and opportunities for economic development. Residents and businesses are encouraged to complete the online survey on the region’s economic potential.

The online survey allows residents and businesses to respond anonymously. It is available immediately via to be completed via this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PortageECDEV. Hard copies of the survey can be picked up and dropped off from the PRED office at 800 Saskatchewan Avenue West, Portage la Prairie. Participants have until October 12, 2023, to complete the survey.

The survey is the first step in establishing what all residents and businesses think of the current economic climate and what directions the Region should take. Other opportunities for public consultation and participation will include focus groups and interviews to be scheduled for October.
